Holiday Traditions for me and my family include the following:

  1. Exchange of gifts
  2. Lots of food
  3. Time with Family
  4. World Junior Hockey

This year the 2011 tournament is well underway in Buffalo, NY.  The medalists have yet to be determined as we cannot predict the future (go Canada).  However we do know what happened in the past.

Here are the Top 7 (+1) All Time Medal Winners at the World Junior Hockey Championships.

1.    Russia (Russia)

15 Gold, 9 Silver, and 6 Bronze (includes medals won by the Soviet Union and Commonwealth of Independent States prior to 1992)

2.   Canada (Canada)

15 Gold, 9 Silver, and 5 Bronze

3.  Czech (Czech Republic)

2 Gold, 5 Silver, and 6 Bronze (includes medals won by Czechoslovakia prior to 1993)

4.   Finland (Finland)

2 Gold, 4 Silver, and 7 Bronze

5.  USA (USA)

2 Gold, 1 Silver, and 3 Bronze

6.  Sweden (Sweden)

1 Gold, 7 Silver, and 5 Bronze

7.  Switzerland (Switzerland)

1 Bronze

8.  Slovakia (Slovakia)

1 Bronze

    With the World Juniors completed, the all time medal standing would mean that Russia has one more Gold, Canada and extra silver and USA another bronze. The order would not be affected.
