Our family has had hours and hours of fun together playing board games.  This holiday season was no different. Food, board games, skating, board games,  Wii, more board games.  The schedule was consistent.  If fact, I just might play a board game tonight.

With the help of www.boardgamegeek.com, here are the Top 7 list of Family Board Games we played as kids.

1.  Backgammon

Our father taught us this game.  He is the champion.  He likes to keep scoresheets from every game we ever played to remind us.

2.  Full House

The invention of the People Popper made the game irresistible.

3.  Operation

The game where you can play Doctor and not get in trouble.

4.  Monopoly

A Classic.  Winning was the exhilarating.  Losing was humiliating.

5.  Trouble

My 7 year old is awesome at this game.

6.  MouseTrap

It was the best game… even though it never really worked.

7.  Risk

The strategy war game.  When my older brother lost, he made it the physical war game.

These games are all good but how could you not mention CRIBBAGE ?

  2. The classics are always great to play. It’s also interesting to see newer games coming out with potential to become classics in their own right. I’ve designed and published several board games and I hope some become classics one day. I’d really like for you to take a look at them and let me know what you think.
